County su perintendent Mrs Maurice Quinn announced the fall teaching roster for 82 rural and two state grad ed schools in Green county. The Peterson school in Brooklyn township shows the lone vacancy. Many rural schools open next week with repairs and fly control completed.
Seven members of the Edgerton Learned family were injured when their car collided with a Milwaukee Road train on a town line road near Albion Wisconsin. Robert D. Niffenegger, 21, son of Mr and Mrs Edward L Niffenegger, 2116 11th Street, has enlisted in the army for three years in the engineers corps. He is stationed at Fort Riley Kansas. Sgt Walter M Helgesen, recruiter, announced. Niffenegger made a perfect score on his application test, 144.
The Senate approved an emergency wartime mobilization bill 85 to 3, giving President Truman broad wage price and inflation control powers. A parallel House measure already approved, together authorize nationwide price and wage controls once activated. The final package requires simultaneous controls if used, with limited GOP opposition and three Republican dissenters in the final tally.
