Citizen Band Jamboree Set for Turner Hall Sunday

The second annual Citizen's Band Jamboree for radio enthusiasts and the public runs Sunday, August 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Turner Hall. Organizers, the Southern Wisconsin Citizen's Radio Club, Inc., hold FCC licenses for citizen band operation. The event attracts about 90000 CB users nationwide and draws 150 local CB operators with around 700 radio units on display. Door prizes and trophies are planned, with Al DeVoe handling dealer or club inquiries.

Chicago milk order changes set for hearings across region

Proposals to alter the Chicago Regional Milk Order will be heard in Chicago and Oshkosh, with plans to create three pricing zones and tighter restrictions on milk uses. The amendments, led by several dairy cooperatives and PMPC, MMPC, and MCPC, could alter Class I fluid milk shares and zone-based payments. Eleven counties may be added to the order in two blocks forming new supply regions.
