Tiny Band Plans Aquacade Concert at Monroe Pool

Monroe fans will see the Monroe Future band a group ages 3 to 6 perform at Recreation Park swim pool for the annual aquacade. They open at 7 30 p m parading their music of the future around the pool rims. About 80 swimmers will present watered down storybook tales Humpty Dumpty Cinderella’s pet mouse and more. An exhibit of boys and girls summer handicraft activities is being set up for attendees.

Beloit Girl Rescued From Gas-Filled Room

A 16-year-old, Bonnie Hagen, was saved from death by asphyxiation when her mother, Mrs Leonard Hagen, broke a window to reach her in a gas filled Beloit home. Police and firefighters used artificial respiration for 30 minutes after finding her unconscious at 9 40 p m. Investigators said she had turned on a tea kettle stove burner that failed to light.

Marcus Fined in Chippewa License Dispute

Chippewa Falls Marcus, state motor vehicle director, was fined 100 dollars in county court for criminal contempt. Judge Orrin H. Larrabee granted a 30 day stay of sentence after defense request. Recluse’s $130,196 Cash Left in His Home After Death

A. J. Fitzgerald reports Charles Babonet, a 66 year old bachelor who died August 7 in Los Angeles, left an estate possibly over $500,000. About $130,196.70 was found in currency bundles stacked behind furniture and under newspapers. The total discovered estate is $317,141.44, with royalty checks noted for oil lands whose location is undetermined. Babonet died intestate. five cousins may inherit, including Michael Babonet and Agnes Krems of St Louis, while others live in Austria and may not be eligible.

The White House invited union leaders to day to avert a looming railway work stoppage. John R. Steelman met with management to renew wage hour talks as unions plan a five day token strike on key steel and coal routes starting next Tuesday at 6 am. Yard workers seek a 40 hour week with pay for 48 hours and wage adjustments to match engineers and firemen. Turner Hall Luncheon Planned for Delegation

A luncheon at Turner Hall tomorrow noon will honor the Swiss delegation of 27 meat industry representatives reported by the Chicago Swiss consulate. Turners Picnic Moves to Fairground Plus Tug Team Challenge

About 3000 Turners are expected Sunday for the 22nd Turn and Schwing club picnic at the fairground north west corner with rain date a week later. An evening Turner hall dance proceeds rain or shine.
