The Senate Judiciary Committee endorsed a plan to drop juries in some cases and reduce the traditional 12 member juries to six in others. Madison Peace Post suspension extended through October

The Madison Peace Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars has its suspension extended to Oct. 8 after a trustee notified the post. The extension follows a dispute over a national VFW resolution backing the Vietnam War and amid protests and a threatened name change to Peace Post. Spokesman Mel Cohen said the unit will appeal to the national convention opening in Dallas.

Prairie du Chien Marquette Bridge to Get Higher Federal Share

The U S government plans a larger share for a new Mississippi River bridge linking Prairie du Chien Wisconsin and Marquette Iowa. Federal funding would rise to 75 percent as the bridge is deemed obsolete, with Wisconsin and Iowa portions totaling about 8.56 million dollars. Work could start in 1972 on a 700 foot downstream span replacing the flood hampered existing bridge.

Wisconsin bingo measure sent to conference committee

A six member conference panel was formed to resolve differences between Senate and Assembly versions of a constitutional amendment to legalize bingo in Wisconsin. CB Jamboree to Be Held at Monroe High Sunday
