Robert Hahn of Monroe supplied a station wagon for ambulance runs to the Monroe Clinic or St. Clare hospital. Badger Motors donated a jeep for full time ground policing. Dane County sheriff’s Walky talkies linked the jeep to the sheriff’s display and headquarters behind the administration building. A troublesome ancient tractor threatened to fail during the thrashing machine event. An old black parasol with worn threads drew comment.

Abducted Boy Found Safe After Abduction
Four year old Bruce Parker was found unharmed by Edward Diehl of Lehighton after a night coon hunting trip when he spotted an abandoned black 1948 Pontiac sedan. Police confirmed the blond boy’s identity and that he had been in the car stolen from a Allentown supermarket parking lot. He was hungry but did not appear injured.

An official cease-fire was declared in Cambodia completing four of five stages to halt the Indochina war. The truce by French Union troops and Vietminh began at 8 a.m. with little military activity left in the kingdom.
