Welch's Body Found on Montana Mountain
The body of L. C. Welch of Baraboo Wisconsin was found in wreckage high on an 8000 foot Montana peak fifteen miles west of Butte. Welch, 57, disappeared during a June 24 flight from Spokane to Wisconsin and had been sought until July 1 when the search was halted.

Jet Plane Blast Kills 9 on Carrier Boxer
An explosion aboard the U S Carrier Boxer in Korean waters killed nine crewmen and injured an unspecified number. Twelve jets were destroyed as fires raged. Sixty three crew members were rescued after being driven overboard by the flames aboard the 27 000 ton carrier with a 2900 crew. The accident occurred about 50 miles off Korea coast Tuesday night with no enemy action involved.

A large white balloon believed to be a weather balloon drifted over Southern Wisconsin yesterday afternoon. It was spotted over Iowa County around 3 am and near Searles school about 4 am on a southeasterly path. Marvin and Walter Creuzer aged 14 and 9 saw what they thought was a flying saucer.
