Timm and Hodgson Win Big at Green County Fair
Donald Timm and the W. G. Timm estate of rural Monroe won the open class grand champion Holstein female ribbon with Royal Green Co-Wis Myrtle. Hodgson and Son of Gratiot took the Brown Swiss female grand champion ribbon. Junior Fair honors saw Jim Sullivan of Monroe FFA win grand champion ewe and champion wether lamb with Shopshires, plus top junior showman honors for David Allen. Lisle Blackbourn claimed champion Angus bull and female, while Graber and Thomas won champion Hereford bull. The Monroe FFA earned the FFA chapter and 4-H Dairy herd trophy. Richland 4-H Club runner-up. Judging swine capped three days of livestock judging.

Robert L. Hanson 20, a carnival worker, was wrestled to the floor by deputies after threatening Superior Judge Carl Daley and District Attorney John Chisholm during his court appearance on auto theft charges. Daley vacated a two year reformatory term and sentenced Hanson to five years in the State Prison at Waupun. He had earlier created a lesser outburst at a preliminary hearing.
