The Antique Lady Awaits Sale Here This Friday
Mrs. Jane Wise known as The Antique Lady from Waterloo Indiana returns for the 14th annual Monroe Kiwanis Club Antique Show and Sale. The event opens Friday at 11 a.m. in Turner Hall and runs through Sunday 6 p.m. Wise recalls friendly reception during her first visit and notes she switched from retiring to antiques after selling her floral business in September 1964.

Monticello Senior Chorus to star in Gala Spring Concert
Monticello High School will host a Gala Spring Concert Thursday May 1 at 8 p.m. in the gym. Admission is free. The program features the Senior Chorus, Concert Band, soloists, and ensembles with works by Frost Thompson Johnson and Cacavas, plus a clarinet trio and Bach prelude.

Benefit Dance Tickets For Patrick Quinn
Tickets go on sale at Monroe banks in Argyle and Blanchardville and Ruf's confectionary for a May 10 Gratiot Community Hall benefit dance. St John’s Catholic Church sponsors the event to aid Patrick Quinn with medical expenses after a kidney transplant. His father Kenneth Quinn donated the kidney at University Hospital Madison last fall.

Fresh Air program set for Monroe with Milwaukee children
The Monroe Council of Churches will sponsor a four week Fresh Air style program this summer inviting about 100 Milwaukee inner city Negro children to stay with Monroe families. Twenty five children are expected weekly with families driving to Milwaukee to collect and return the visitors. The schedule runs from July 20 to August 17 with local committees coordinating host families and pickups.

Rhett Paul Ryan a 13 year old of Belleville has endured a lengthy hospital stay at St. Clare Hospital since February 18 with four surgeries including a recent brain operation. He faced critical illness and ten days in intensive care before gradually improving. His prized gifts include a Eddie Matthews statue a Red Wilson autographed baseball and a Green Bay Packers football from Don Horn.
