Thompson Named to Head Education Agency
Glenn T. Thompson, former Monroe resident and Albany elementary principal, named first co ordinator of Cooperative Education Service Agency No. 15. He starts July 1 overseeing Green and Dane Counties plus parts of Jefferson Sauk Richland Town Dodge and Columbia. The district includes 18 K 12 districts, five union high schools, 35 elementary schools with 61 000 students. Thompson is current county superintendent of Waukesha County. Amish Volunteers Rebuild Barns After Palm Sunday Tornadoes
Scores of Amish and Mennonite volunteers moved into northern Indiana to rebuild barns and homes in LaGrange, Elkhart, and St Joseph counties. A 150 man force from Lancaster organized to restore two story barns while crews from several states join efforts. An advance team aims to restore one barn per day, with volunteers using power tools to speed work.
