Monroe junior high librarian Miss Lillian Hanson and Mrs Clinton Blackbourn will judge the county spelling bee at Monticello gym. Fifty three finalists from rural graded and village schools compete with Armond Ketterer as master pronouncer. Contestants must arrive at 7 30 p m for numbers and instructions. show starts at 8 p m. The winner advances to the Badger finals in Madison May 26 and the champion’s teacher earns a trip to Washington DC for the National Finals June 4 8.
