The Air Force testifies before a House subcommittee that by the mid 1960s about 60 percent of air defense units will be missile units, with manned aircraft at 40 percent, though no phasing out of aircraft is planned. Missile forces will grow faster in defense roles than long range strike wings.
Jacob B. Hoesly 77 of New Glarus died yesterday at 10 a.m. in St. Clare hospital after a stroke. Born Sept. 1, 1880 in Primrose Township, he married Rosina Becker in 1900. she died this year. He leaves two sons Clarence and Clifford. buried in Swiss United Church of Christ cemetery after services led by Rev. Lynn F. B. Tschudy.
Milo Friedrichs and wife at 2714 7th Street announce the birth of a son. A blue pennant flown from the TV antenna signaled the arrival, following a Navy style message. They have a daughter Barbara Jean, age five, and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Friedrichs.

Orion E. Swenson 49 of Blanchardville died at 5 30 this morning at home after a long illness. He was born January 19 1909 in York Township to Ludvig and Sophia Swenson and was never married. Surviving are his father and sister Mrs Myrtle Lokken. He was preceded by his mother and two brothers. He was a member of York Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral 2 PM at York Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev M A Sorenson officiating. Burial in adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers are six nephews. Friends may call Saether Funeral Home Blanchardville until noon Wednesday.

Palm Springs California 34 year old Trygve Teigen died after an 80 foot fall during his first performance with the Rudy Brothers Circus. The Norwegian performer and his wife Gerda watched as he lost balance during a three chair balancing act atop a pole before 2000 spectators. They had been living in Los Angeles and working small engagements.
