Brewery Expands Using Old Jail Property for Storage
The Jos Huber Brewing Co will start a major expansion this summer adding a 45 by 55 foot cement block storage building west of the old jail cell block. The project will connect to the recently completed bottling plant and may include a second floor in the future. The company plans to lease the sheriff’s quarters to Weasel’s Tap and relocate the tavern by July 1 with remodeling and improved lighting and parking.

T J Burgy Jr and Mrs Del bert Krupke were installed as commander and post president of Cecil Jones Post No 2312 and its auxiliary in Turner hall last night. The ceremony was led by Ray Skarweski of Janesville, with Mrs Nina Vogel and Mrs Willis Mitchell assisting. Post officers include Burgy and others. auxiliary officers were named, with Duerst as outgoing president. Eighteen Beloit visitors attended along with DAR and American Legion members. A plaque for 100 percent membership was unveiled and the post now lists 260 members.

In Wisconsin the Metro Mail experimental system moves most first class letters faster in test areas but routing, transport and handling issues remain. Regional director C. E. Won't Attend Summit Under Any Ultimatum
President Eisenhower, in a wide ranging news conference, warned Khrushchev against ultimatums and said he would not attend the Paris summit under threat. He defended Rhee as a great patriot despite missteps and predicted Khrushchev won’t press too far. He plans to visit Korea next June and discussed Nixon’s possible brief role if needed. He also addressed religion in politics and opposed any compulsory health insurance tax increase.
