Steps Launched For County's Cut In Board Members
Green County Supervisors began steps to shrink the county board membership naming a seven man committee led by County Board Chairman C. S. Pierce. The plan bases apportionment on population and shifts influence toward urban areas while setting a maximum board size and ending automatic town chairmen membership. The board also approved pay scales for a full time social worker and two licensed practical nurses for Green County Hospital. Hospital chief Amos S. Johnson cited overcrowding and rising patient numbers from Green County. The supervisors approved funds for Day Care Centers and extended three highway workers to year end, with part time duties after age 65. Pierce reminded meetings start at 7:45 p.m. and that remarks to the chair should be brief.

Wisconsin Yeuth Corps to aid flood relief efforts in state
Wisconsin plans a youth relief program to employ youths ages 16 to 22 in flood and tornado disaster areas.
