Gun Fight Ends In Three Deaths In Dana Point

Tragic Las Vegas Midair Collision Probed

In Las Vegas a United Air Lines DC7 and an Air Force F100 collided at 21 000 feet killing 42 aboard and aboard the airliner were prominent businesspeople and an inventor whose device could help prevent such crashes. The F100 crew included an instructor and student, under instrument flight. the instructor was not hooded. The crash prompted CAB scrutiny of instrument penetration training at Nellis Air Force Base. The inventor, Jack R. Fedrick, traveled to Colorado Springs to present his air traffic display idea to the Air Force.

Pickett Boy Remains In Critical Condition

William Pickett an eight year old boy remains unconscious and in critical condition at St. Clare hospital after being struck by a car while hiking near Monroe on Saturday afternoon. He ran into the car’s path while fleeing a dog. The car driver Rev. Alfred Kelsey of Florida reported the incident and the boy suffered a broken leg and skull fracture.
