Easter Egg Hunt and Sunrise Service in Monroe Area
Hundreds of Monroe area children will hunt Easter eggs tomorrow in Recrea tion Park after which adults observe the religious side at a union sunrise service in St John s Church and church services throughout the day. The 40 and 8 American Legion group sponsors two hundred dozen eggs for the hunt beginning at 3 p m with prizes for numbered eggs. A Masonic Temple service follows at 3 p m hosted by Monroe Commandery Knights Templar. The union Easter sunrise service at 6 a m in St John s Church is led by the Monroe Christian Youth Council with music by Eugene Baker and Carol Peterson and readings by Janeen Boyer. A men s breakfast at 7 a m in First Methodist is hosted by the Methodist Men s Club. Easter egg hunts also are planned in Monticello and Albany with the Monticello event sponsored by Amstutz Marty American Legion Post and the Albany Hunt by the Albany Herald. Hundreds also gathered yesterday at Immanuel Church for a Good Friday union service by the Monroe Council of Churches with Seven Words from the Cross messages by local ministers.

Miss Jennie Hamilton 89 lifelong Green County resident and Monroe 50 years died yesterday in a Monroe hospital after seven years illness. Born Sept 2 1867 in Adams Township she was the daughter of John and Mary Hamilton homemaker crocheting was her pastime. Surviving sister Miss Maggie and two nieces Marie M Rude and Mary Powers. Wisconsin to move 18000 reservists to standby group
About 18000 Wisconsin enlisted reservists will shift to inactive standby status in coming months. Col. Charles C. Ege says those with an eight year obligation before June 1 1953 who do not drill now will have total ready status time reduced by up to two years, while the eight year obligation remains. Transfers begin Monday with possible delays six months or longer. Standby reservists may return to ready status by volunteering for Army Reserve or National Guard units.

Humphrey Open to Accept Refund of $1,508
Secretary Humphrey said he would be glad to accept personally on behalf of the Treasury a stationery allowance refund from Senator Williams. Jacob Buehler Dies in Monroe at 77
Jacob Buehler 77 of 1616 15th Avenue Monroe died at 9 10 am today at St. Clare hospital after two years of heart illness. Born July 7 1879 in Canton Bern Switzerland he moved to the United States in 1892 settling near Monroe. He married Bertha Huenig March 19 1908 and they retired to Monroe in 1944. Surviving are his wife two sons John Pecatonica Ill and Fred Orangeville a brother John and three grandchildren. Services set for 2 pm Monday at Stuessy funeral home with Rev Paul H Olm of St John s Church officiating. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
