An explosion at Indian Ford two miles east of Edgerton killed Walter Rahl aged 40 and Edward A Witt aged 53. Fellow worker Herman Witt, 44, was injured. The boiler used to steam tobacco beds on local farms blew hundreds of feet across a barn. A safety valve failure is suspected.
