Wisconsin dairy interests push to repeal the national oleomargarine ban to allow a lower fat butter substitute. A 11 word bill has 48 sponsors and a public hearing is set for the Assembly Agriculture Committee. UW researchers say a low fat product could sell 35 to 50 cents a pound.

Birds Blamed For Ailments In Missouri

Melvin Becker Taken by Death
Melvin Becker 77 president of the State Bank of Belleville died suddenly from a heart attack at his Belleville home. He had directed the bank since 1925 and served as president since 1962. Surviving are his wife and son in Belleville, a Madison daughter, two brothers, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the First United Church of Christ. prayer service tonight at the Becker Funeral Home.
