Barn Leveled At Jenny Farm Near Monroe
A fire destroyed the barn on the Joseph Jenny Estate farm in Sylvester township about three miles east of Monroe. Damage estimated at 12 000 to 15 000 dollars. Three calves, a baler, a side rake, 160 bales of hay and grain were lost. A milk house, residence roof, and surrounding buildings were damaged as flames spread aided by a west wind. Firefighters and tankers battled the blaze with multiple water runs. alarms sounded at 11 20 AM and 4 44 PM as embers sparked nearby fields and the residence.

Mork Dies at Tomah Veterans Hospital After Illness
Alden LaMont Mork 30 husband of Ruth Wenger of Monroe died early yesterday at Tomah Veterans Administration hospital after a five and a half year illness with multiple sclerosis. He was born Sept. 7, 1927 in Manston, a World War II veteran, and attended the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University before joining Tomah Lumber and Fuel Co. He married Ruth Wenger June 22, 1952 at Immanuel EUB church. Survived by widow, parents, one son Jon Eric, 4, a brother and a sister. Funeral tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the American Lutheran church, Tomah.
