Nearly 800 Attend Second Annual Monroe Music Festival
Nearly 800 boys and girls from county schools gathered at Monroe high school auditorium for the second annual Music Festival directed by Mrs Don ald Edwards with Lloyd Schultz guest director from the University of Wisconsin. The Monticello Junior Band with 39 members demonstrated instruments under Mac Davison. A rural school chorus of 70 sang, with Daphne Mauerman at piano. The program opened with flag salute and America the Beautiful followed by welcome by Louis Bosman. Hiawathan pupils served as ushers.
