In Brodhead, C. O. Synstegard defeated Frank Mauermann 406 to 326 to retain the mayor’s office. Dr. Roland Pawlish won 131 write-in votes for Second Ward alderman, while Dr. A. N. Lawton edged Fredrick M. Ties for the ward seat with 142 and 118 votes respectively, with Lawton a former mayor. John S. Pengra beat Glen Earleywine 135 to 126 for First Ward alderman. Synstegard led Second Ward votes 265 to 211 over Mauermann. An ordinance to appointive assessors and treasurers will take effect soon.
