Will Oil the Streets

About fourteen blocks in the business district are to be oiled to keep down the dust. The oil has been ordered and will be here in a few days. The company furnishing the oil will send a man to apply it on the streets. Residents of several sections of the city will try to oil their streets. Where oil has been tried it has proven satisfactory. E. Green made a flying trip to Hannibal Saturday.

Monroe City Fair plans announced for August event

Fair organizers led by President J M Proctor and Secretary Alexis Hays outline 1912 Monroe City Fair activities from August 7 to 10. A busy board will showcase farm animals horses a floral hall and a poultry yard while promising a soon to be released catalogue. Local citizens are urged to prepare exhibits and engage in friendly rivalry to benefit the community.
