Great Monroe City Fair scheduled for August 7 to 10 features church notices and events. Reports on baptisms weddings missing groom, district meetings, sermons and services at Monroe City MO with Rev J W Smith and visiting pastors, plus local notices on excursions and dog concerns.
From Monroe City notes on farm products prices and shipments including eggs and wool, road conditions praising good roads and urging wider use. Also obituary for William Beverly Arnold at age 61, details of life, marriage, and funeral arrangements at Methodist church with Masonic rites.
A reading from State Superintendent Evans lauds Monroe City Schools for high quality and notes need for another teacher. Inspector praises manual training and overall school condition, while salaries hinder retention. Also reports arrival of a son to Mr and Mrs Isadore Thomas on Rural Route 3 and PEOs meeting with Mrs Rutledge set for Saturday.
An editorial urges mutual respect between automobile drivers and teams drawn by horses. It calls for staying to the right, yielding passes, and not exceeding speed limits to protect both travelers. About fourteen blocks in the business district are to be oiled to keep down the dust. The oil has been ordered and will be here in a few days. The company furnishing the oil will send a man to apply it on the streets. Residents of several sections of the city will try to oil their streets. Where oil has been tried it has proven satisfactory. E. Green made a flying trip to Hannibal Saturday.

A busy board will showcase farm animals horses a floral hall and a poultry yard while promising a soon to be released catalogue. Local citizens are urged to prepare exhibits and engage in friendly rivalry to benefit the community.
