Friday’s Democratic Day in Palmyra drew a large crowd with candidates for state offices present. Speeches by Sen. Stone Dave Ball W H Wallace and Gov Folk were well received. Mrs Ruth E Peddicord widow of Capt Hamilton Byrd died at 72 at her home Thursday July 23 funeral held at Holy Rosary church. Remains were taken to Palmyra for burial accompanied by John Byrd and family. Theodore Sullivan visited his uncle R V Sullivan. Elva Clark left Saturday for Madison for a week with friends.
