Mrs. Katie Lee Wallace aged 45 died at her home in Wicket Monday morning after a lengthy illness. She is survived by husband W. C. Wallace and brother-in-law Bp. T. Wallace of Monahans. The Walter Harwell Funeral Home shipped the body to Breckenridge for services and interment.

Local Air Mail Line to Get Regular Contract Next Month
The Star Air Mail service from Monahans to Big Spring is set to be continued under a new contract from July 1, 1939 to June 30, 1943. The route runs Monahans Odessa Midland Stanton to Big Spring with daily departures at 12 51 P M except Sunday and reaches Big Spring by 3 23 P M. Postmaster Earl Estes notes it is the only air mail route of its kind in the United States and cites oil sector demand and smoother business transits to eastern cities.

Plans Submitted For City Swimming Pool Project

The Monahans Aviation Club bought a 1939 Aeronca Chief for member instruction and hired Ray Deal Goodwin, a Kilgore Texas licensed commercial pilot, as instructor. The deal closed Wednesday and the plane will arrive early next week.

Grandfalls School Superintendent Gravely Ill After Relapse
John S. White superintendent of Grandfalls Royalty schools suffered a relapse after an appendectomy. He was hospitalized two weeks ago in Pecos, brought home, then rushed back for complications and multiple blood transfusions. Latest reports say his condition remains serious. Bernie Kubber Dies Suddenly in West Texas
Bernard G. Bernie Kuber, about 46, a Monahans business man long known on West Texas streets, died Thursday in a Lubbock hospital after double pneumonia. He had just left Monahans for Hot Springs to recover, then went to Hobbs, later falling ill again and entering the Lubbock hospital. Born in Boston, he spent his early life in New York City and leaves a sister in Boston and a California brother. Funeral services were held in Amarillo last Friday with interment there.
