Burglars Take $3000 Jewelry Haul From Shaw's
Thieves entered the Central Drug Building Monday night by a skylight and stole 72 watches plus trays of birthstone and baby rings and a wardrobe suitcase. Highway route from Odessa to El Paso deemed not cost effective

Kilmer, division highway engineer, told the Pecos Lions Club last week that a proposed Dallas to El Paso cut through Odessa Winkler Loving Culberson and Hudspeth counties on US 62 would be very remote. Pony Express Riders Begin 1900 Mile Journey to San Francisco
The Nocona event drew about 5000 spectators as 17 riders start the 1900 mile trek to the Golden Gate Exposition. Included is a 16 year old girl rider.
