Commissioners approve bids and plan community center super-block
County officials accepted Stuckey's $100 bid for a machine and approved Wickett City Marshall Alan Woods after training at Permian Basin Academy. A July 4 art show at the Community Center, with five divisions and entry fees, was announced. Resignation of A M Bowman as Tax Assessor-Collector and appointment of Edith Porter followed. The board approved officer reports, paid $192 542.30 in claims, and discussed the July 20 quarter horse show procedures. They also endorsed dirt work on the coliseum floor for the show and reviewed community center sketches by architect Robert Messersmith envisioning a super-block around county and city facilities.
