Lawrence Hahn urged the Commissioners Court to pursue a fuller right of way for north side I 20 service roads. He offered 4.5 additional acres at 5000 per acre for a first class job, while consenting to the highway department’s use of 3.88 acres for drainage and re entry. Budget plan for County totals about 1.53 million dollars

Jim L. Stewart, a 27 year old Seabee, was wounded in a land mine blast near Da Nang on May 30 while helping build a Marine camp. He received first aid in Vietnam, was evacuated to Guam then to Corpus Christi Naval Hospital for therapy and expects discharge after treatment. He is on his second Viet Nam tour and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Stewart.

Final Payment On 54 Hospital Bond Issue
The final payment on the original $400 000 county hospital bond issue from 1954 will be made July 10. Auditor R T Harris announced to the Commissioners. The payment, with interest, totals $30 355.00 reducing total county bonded debt to $484 000 across Agricultural Livestock Exhibition Buildings, Park, Road, Hospital Addition, and permanent improvement bonds. Other debt includes $45 500 in time warrants and $25 000 authorized for Cow Palace and Monahans Community Center upgrades.
