A Jaycee sponsored medical scholarship football game will be played August 5 at 8 p.m. in Estes Stadium Monahans between the Monahans Jaycees and the 1977 graduating seniors under high school UIL rules. Tickets go on sale July 1 for 5 dollars adults 2.50 for students. Proceeds go into a trust fund to finance a medical scholarship for a 1978 graduate with annual interest used for successive winners subject to scholastic requirements.
Plans to open a K-Bob Steak House in Monahans were announced by part owner Gordon Stanford. Ground breaking at 9th and South Stockton is slated in about two weeks with an official opening date to be confirmed. The family restaurant will offer steak and shrimp, a salad bar, and hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Community Advisory Council of West Texas Children's Home will hold its first regular meeting at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday in the Community Room of First National Bank. Volunteer Coordinator Ernie Moore announced the gathering after the council's organization and officer elections, expressing enthusiasm for the group’s potential.

Monahans Jaycees invite Treasure Chest entrants for the annual carnival in July. Prizes donated by merchants are awarded each night. Deadline to join is Wednesday June 22.
