Joe H. Bryant arrived from Lubbock to manage the Tower Theatre in Monahans. He leaves the Cactus Theatre there after June and plans to move his family soon. The Tower is leased by M. A. Sanders who also owns the Cactus. The Bairds previously operated the local theatre. Bryant aims to secure the best pictures available.
James F. Cox president of Abilene Christian College will preach at eleven o clock Sunday at the Church of Christ according to an announcement by Rev Hobbs minister of the local church.
Sidney Dwayne Moore was born to Mr S A Moore and Mrs Moore on Thursday June 2. The newborn weighed seven and a half pounds.
Charles E. Odom, 27, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a brief illness. He had worked for Ozark Chemical Company for two years. He is survived by his widow and relatives in Vernon, Texas. The body was prepared for shipment to Vernon Tuesday night by the Wal ter Harwell Funeral Home.
Monahans Motor Company announces a next week driving contest with three cash prizes. Licensed drivers can enter at Monahans Motor Company with 60 horsepower Ford V-8s provided. No entry fee. each car starts with equal fuel and condition. winners receive 10 seven fifty and five dollars.

Pete McCurry a former bank bookkeeper and Colorado football and basketball standout born May 18 1909 in Gatesville Texas moved to Colorado in 1924 and played in state semi finals as a quarterback later worked in banks before venturing into film work and a potential marriage in July with best wishes from friends
