The Pyote Produce Co owned by M. J. Armstrong moves its grocery business from Penwell to Grandfalls this week. Organized in 1927 at Pyote and relocated to Penwell in 1930 the stock is now opened in a building once home to Rhinehart Drug Co. A formal opening is planned Saturday June 10.

Reverend Brewster Ross Hunt known as the marrying parson has married more couples in Benton Arkansas over the last 26 years than any other minister. Born blind in 1876 he studied at the Arkansas School for the Blind where he read the Bible in Braille.

Former Monahans Citizen Dies in Midland at 83
H N Garrett aged 83 died in Midland Friday after months of illness. A founder of Midland in 1882, he came from California with brother A D Garrett and engaged in sheep raising in Midland and Stanton counties. He formed Garrett Mercantile Co of Monahans in 1903, operating until about 1918 with F J Garrett as partner. His wife passed away about a year earlier.

Ingram Bros Awarded City Water Well Contract
The city council, in a called noon meeting on Monday, awarded Ingram Bros the drilling contract for a new water well at about 400 dollars. The well, near the existing one, will be about 130 feet deep and use the same pumping system as the old well. J H Miles was a bidder. The council noted rising water demand and discussed paving plans for South Pacific street. The next regular meeting is Monday night June 12.
