Designation Agreement Announced for Permian Basin Health Area 12
Congressman George Mahon announced a Designation Agreement between the Department of Health Education and Welfare and the Permian Basin Health Systems Agency for Health Service Area 12. The 17 counties include Andrews Borden Crane Dawson Ector Gaines Glasscock Howard Loving Martin Midland Pecos Reeves Terrell Upton Ward and Winkler. An initial 79000 dollars funds will start a Health System Plan for future health services. The PBHSA is one of three Texas designations and the only one operating with a Regional Planning Commission. The PB Regional Planning Commission will be the grantee and staff employer for the PBHSA. The agency has organized since December 1975. governing body includes consumers and providers from the 17 counties.
