G C Doc Medley of Monahans has received the China War Memorial Decoration sent by the Chinese Embassy via the 14th Air Force Association. Medley served in China 1943 to 1945 and has waited 31 years for the award, noting the Chinese do not hurry. He has lived in Monahans since 1938 and worked for The Popular and his own Family Shoe Store, later employed by Ward County before retiring in 1974. Summer classes begin at Monahans High School today with English and health offerings for seniors and freshmen.
