New hospital lab equipment arrives at Ward Memorial
Ward Memorial Hospital began receiving new lab equipment in early January. Lab Supervisor Carol Hill explained how a flame photometer, a total carbon dioxide analyzer, and a spectrophotometer assess a patient electrolyte panel and metabolic state. The new instruments replace aging devices to speed tests for potassium, sodium, chloride, uric acid, cholesterol, and calcium, aiding diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Typing Class Set for Tuesday at Local High School

The city seeks grants from the Texas Water Resources Department and EPA to upgrade the wastewater plant and design an irrigation system for ball fields, park, cemetery, and golf course.
