Methodist educator says China churches re-opening
The Rev. Hector Navas, superintendent of Navajo Methodist Mission School, reports Christians in the Peoples Republic of China may worship publicly again. He described attending services in Canton and Shanghai where the Mo-An Church, once red guarded, now operates with seven pastors, five retired pastors, and three Bible women serving thousands each Sunday. He noted church persecutions but faith remains strong and that Christians have petitioned the government to lift atheism as the official stance.

Faithful service despite fault and doubt in scripture
The sermonette argues that God achieves plans through imperfect people like Abraham Jeremiah Moses Isaiah and Paul. It cites scriptural promises and forgiveness showing that age sinfulness or fear do not block God’s purpose. Trust in divine guidance enables believers to answer God’s call with Here am I.

Naming of the Boy John Stuns Elizabeth and Neighbors
Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months before she gave birth to a boy named John. The relatives expected Zacharias, but Elizabeth insisted on John. Zacharias wrote the name John, then regained speech and praised God. News spread through Judea as people wondered what the child would become. A gospel artist Evans, from West Virginia, promotes the gospel message through singing. Gordon Cox, pastor, invites all to hear this nationally known artist.

Biblical quotation about light arising from darkness
Matthew 4 14 16 cites Isaiah foretelling that people in darkness will see a great light and the light will shine upon those in the region and shadow of death. The verse frames Jesus as fulfillment of prophecy and a beacon of hope for afflicted regions.
