GI life policy holders to receive record 619.7 million dividend in 1981
Veterans Affairs Administrator Max Cleland announced that nearly four million GI life insurance policyholders will share a record 619.7 million in dividends in 1981 due to higher interest earnings. In Texas, 197,061 insured will obtain about 31.8 million. Dividends are automatic on policy anniversaries, with amounts varying by policy type and duration.

Monahans High Band Sends 43 Students to Region VI Concert
Monahans High School Band Director Dan Gibbs announced 43 MHS students will perform in the Region VI Band concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Ector High School auditorium Odessa. Admission is free. Two students Sandy Steen and Drew Lang qualified for All State try-outs in Lubbock January 17.
