The Works Progress Administration approved Grandfalls street improvements and allotted 10 695 dollars in federal funds. The project will create jobs and cover gutters tree planting and incidental work as announced by Congressman R. E. Thomason.
Mr Bodenhof takes over as manager at the Dunlap store in West Texas. The announcement notes a week to clear stock and bring in trade, with plans to complete department changes and carry merchanidse as the lease runs through January. He aims to boost business and organize the Texas operation.

They travel to El Paso Sunday for contests and the football team joins the Sun Carnival parade.
Pete Owens, one of the Jones county boys, works behind the glass at T. L. Miller Jewelry in Ward County. A Stamford native, he played football at Stamford High and Mc Murry, planned coaching, and returned to jewelry work with two brothers in the business. He prefers hunting and looks forward to using a new gun Santa brought him.
Under a remodeling program the Rex Hotel will install private baths in 100 rooms. Redecoration begins after baths are installed, as reported.

Mr and Mrs W H Lee an elderly Barstow couple are recovering from serious injuries after a holiday auto crash near Barstow. Mr Lee suffered a fractured skull multiple broken ribs and bruises while Mrs Lee sustained a broken collarbone bruises and shock when their car collided with one driven by Conway Clingan as they traveled to Pecos for the holidays.

Work started Wednesday on an addition to Dr. Cooks Northside Hospital on North Minor Street. By mid January the unit will house ten patient rooms a laboratory operating room and a sun porch. The operating room will use the newest system of artificial lighting to simulate daylight.
Earl Earp is in Dallas this week on business engagements. He will meet with local partners and review upcoming projects and opportunities in the area.

Miss Anita Stevenson will return to Stephenville to resume studies at John Tarleton College after holidays with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Clark visited relatives in Blum and Denton during Christmas. Ned Brooks of Oklahoma University was a holiday visitor in Monahans, where he formerly worked. Johnny E. Smith spent Christmas in Colorado visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs Frank Smith.
I eon Clark has returned to Norman Oklahoma where he will resume his studies at the University after spending Christmas holidays with his mother Mrs Rossie Clark.
Miss Hda Vernon visits relatives in Farmersville and Fort Worth last weekend. She attended the Corpus Christi Lubbock High School football game in Dallas Monday. Mr and Mrs J Ogden Brown visited relatives in Menard and Santa Anna during the holiday.
