Tumbleweeds and Tales From a Texan Childhood
Fragmented diary style vignette recalls a Texan boy and his Little Brother dreaming of a servicemen pool swim and a Greyhound trip to Monahans with Tillie. The piece blends humor and nostalgia with WWII era G I Joe imagery and curious questions about calendars and the year 2000. It closes with a note about a missing person feature in the Sunday issue.
