Fern Tatom's Car II Stolen Then Recovered in Odessa
Fern Tatom reported his car stolen Monday night while parked downtown Monahans. About ten minutes later the vehicle was found missing and driven east on Main Street. Deputy Ray Keenan alerted Odessa authorities and the thief was captured. the car was returned in good condition. The suspect Clifton Gage of Sweetwater claimed CCC camp ties at Fort Davis and was held in Monahans jail before being moved to Pecos.

Robbery Targeted Monahans Club Manager A F Watt
A F Watt manager of the Monahans Club was robbed Monday night on his way home from Jimmy's Cafe near the railroad. Three men confronted him, one with a weapon, and snatched $26.70 from a small bag. Watt chased briefly, then returned to town for help, but the thieves escaped. Reports say suspicious men have been seen around other businesses late at night waiting for owners to leave with receipts.

Wurtz’s Stolen Car Recovered in Odessa
H F Wurtz reports his new Terraplane was stolen from the yard on Thanksgiving night. The car was found unharmed on an Odessa street later in the week after deputies traced the theft to hitchhiking suspects. The Wurtzs spent Thanksgiving in Alpine and returned home safely about 11 p.m.

Tookie Fielding, injured by a rifle bullet while burning weeds at his home in Monahans last Friday, is convalescing at Rehmeyer Hospital. He survived four intestines punctured by the missile and received a blood transfusion from Lindsay Morcross of Midland. doctors expect recovery in two to three weeks.
