The Dispatch and Review dispute Over personal attacks and city printing contracts. The Review asserts Kennedy’s fair competition and condemns Kennedy’s charge as untruthful. It recounts rival claims on city printing and notes the council awarded the work to The Review.
The census by Mr. Bullen shows 2 045 children aged five to enroll next year, implying demand for another school. District totals include 1 382 families with varied nationalities. Germans appear slightly more prolific. The Bluff area remains in a separate district.
The Old Times article links John A Boyd with A F Swan der as joint power of attorney holder for selling certain Illinois City lots. It recalls Boyd leaving Moline for Rock Island foundry work with C C Weber near the Government bridge, a counterfeiters’ fire, arrest, and a vigilante removal from jail. He later moved to Davenport, entered a foundry with George L Davenport and Antoine Le Claire, and was elected Davenport mayor.

Mrs. Robert H Moore returns to Pekin as health improves. John D Lowry, English draftsman, visiting Cleveland, in talks for C R I P B R job with rail line.
