Fishermen Camp Near Pinney Slough Reels In 28 Visitors

Four weeks ago last Wednesday W A Dart Dad Erickson Chas Long and Tom Birmingham camped near Pinney Slough with tents. Rainy first two weeks gave way to sunfish bites and plenty of provender. Twenty eight visitors registered, all leaving pleased with fish and hospitality.

New Bridge For Rock River Line Expansion

The extension of the double track from Colona to Genesco requires a new Rock River bridge placed slightly east of the current one due to a channel shift. After completion the old bridge will be removed and usable portions diverted to other projects.

Residents welcome new road surface on Moline avenue with drains installed to carry away foul water. Sidewalks are being graded down and will be re laid with new plank by respective property owners. Some contract concerns noted about the broken macadam work.
