Theater and restaurant plans approved for city annexation dispute
Stanislaus County Planning Commission approved Stanislaus Motor In Inc to split Prescott Drive-In into three screens, with a prerequisite annexation agreement to Modesto. Charles Maestri criticized the annexation condition though city services benefit the drive-in, which now houses about 1,000 cars and will be reconfigured to 435, 222 and 301 car spaces. The panel also okayed replacing Old Foamy Drive-In with an indoor restaurant, gas pumps and a store.
