Fire destroys Downey High wing in 2am blaze
A four room business class wing at Downey High School facing Coffees Road suffered a fierce fire about 2 am. Thick smoke and flames from the attic gutted the roof and ceiling of Wing 70’s conference room and four classrooms. Students evacuated safely as fire crews suspected an internal electrical source in a ceiling light box. No injuries reported. six accounting machines were saved.
