Severely Wounded in France Marine Colonel Catin
Colonel Albertus Wright Catin of the United States Marine Corps is severely wounded in France. Born December 1, 1868, in Gofanda New York he graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1890 and commanded the USS Maine when it was destroyed in Havana Harbor in 1898. He served in the Philippines Hawaii and Cuba and helped seize Vera Cruz on April 22 1914. He graduated from the Army War College in May 1917 and later commanded the marine barracks at Quantico Virginia.
