Young Titze in Trouble Again for $319 Theft
Albert Titze faces return to reform school after a new examination on the $319 theft from Joseph Weepie. Five to six witnesses testified, including Weepie’s boy, who said Titze took the box with the money. Titze confessed to stealing and offered to return it. the box was later found buried in garden soil. Judge McKinley set bonds at $300, sending Titze to the November term.

Death of Father Lawler Shakes Alexandria Catholic Community
The aged Father Lawler, longtime priest of the Alexandria parish, died Saturday morning at his home in Alexandria at about 5 o clock aged 78. He had served in Emmett and then Alexandria for many years and was a respected figure in Catholic circles. His death ends a long era in local church history.

County Auditor Anderson reports state board of equalization actions on real and personal property in the county. Total equalized valuation for 1900 is 2 545 141 with changes including 10 percent decreases for lands and lots and increases for merchandise 10 percent, manufactures 10 percent, horses 55 percent, mules 50 percent, cattle 40 percent, sheep 35 percent, swine 40 percent, moneys and credits 20 percent, other property 10 percent. State tax levy set at 24-10 mills.

Pehrsons Return From Sweden Trip Via Paris
Mr and Mrs A H Pehrson arrived home Tuesday after a visit in Sweden lasting the summer. Mrs Pehrson had left last spring for Sweden and spent the season there. About a month ago their son joined to escort his mother home and they traveled home by way of Paris attending the exposition. They crossed the water in five and a half days aboard the Deutschland.
