A wedding occurred Thursday at 11 am in the Palm House greenhouse. George Summers Jr and May McPherson of Prospect Ohio exchanged vows beneath palm fronds, with Rev. G W Austin officiating. Bride wore black and roses. groom in brown. Guests congratulated the couple amid lush greenery.
The wedding party gathered in the Palm House after the ceremony. The bride, daughter of William and Mrs. McPherson of Prospect Ohio, is 20, a Prospect University graduate, and well regarded by friends. The groom, Mr Summers, is Mitchell Ironworks manager and owner, a war veteran and longtime resident. The couple plan a Missouri river honeymoon and a future home on Second Street near a flower garden.
