Kimball Tiss Ella Duba, youngest daughter Jos. Duba of this city, married Mitchell by Rev. J. S. Hoagland of M. EB church a week ago tonight at the parsonage to John Vingyolil of dison, Wis. They will wed in Port Wayne, Ind. The wedding surprised Kimball’s family. Ochsner family towed autos for a DE trip to the mouth of the Bio wade. W. G. Richards shipped first assignment of big steers to Cable, totaling 50 carloads. Farmers busy haying as land is being cut over. total crop expected to be permal. Active work to organize a county seat for rule county starts, with committee members named from various towns. Mrs. V. Miller arrived from Huron after visiting her husband at camp Green. Mrs. George Edwards and son left for Minnesota after a ten day visit with kin. Mr. Edwards plans further travel.
White Lake Little Wilma Oakes invited friends to her home last Wednesday afternoon for a sixth birthday celebration. Albert Herring and Victor McCormick hosted school friends at the Herring home last Wednesday evening with games and a lunch. The Presbyterian church group held a farewell for Rev Bowen and Mrs Bowen at the Hoff home on Monty evening with ninety attendees and a short program of music and readings. Light refreshments were served.
Community updates from Menno include visits to Sioux Falls and St Paul for addresses and festivals, grapes sold in Parkston Delmont and Tripp, and funeral attendance for David Heerboldt. Karl L Gall, born 1862 in South Russia, died after years of illness. his funeral closed schools and businesses.
Corsica residents hosted relatives and friends visiting from Joplin Missouri LeMars Iowa Ireton Iowa Armour South Dakota Gary Oregon and Ackley Iowa. Several families traveled for extended visits while others returned home after weeks with Pinney Culver and Smith families in Grandview township Harrison County.
Mrs. Eber Wilde of Pasadena returns from two months visiting Sioux City Mitchell and Woonsocket friends. Mrs. H W Riley comes home from Wisconsin to family. Charles Moore completes a large seventeen room house on George Teller farm five miles northwest. Miss Francis Warner to teach near Carthage. Myrtle Lindstrom and Bessie Severard of Artesian visit Woonsocket. Mrs. G L Lowell travels with Nettie G C Doughty to Sioux City en route to Montana. GC H Lug of Pierre and EB Woodburn of Aberdeen spoke at the District Officers meeting. Joseph Murtha of Davenport visited sons John and James Horrigan. return trip Monday.
Perry Township reports visiting relatives near Mt Vernon and Omaha swine show trips. Funeral for Samuel R K Campbell at his son John Campbell’s home highlights his age, survivors, service led by Rev Ingram, and Graceland cemetery interment. Community clubs plan meetings with Mrs M P Bates and Mrs Roy Jacobus in late October.
Dolton Mrs. John Lambertz returned last Thursday from an extended visit with her sister at Braddock. Mrs. George Longdon from Murdo arrived last Saturday to visit her sister Mrs. N. A. Kappenman. Mrs. Henry Kotz of Prisho is visiting Chas. Kappenman. N. L. Kidder, former Dalton school principal now in Valley Springs, moved his family there last Thursday. Mrs. J. T. Schroeder learned her father in Vona had died and attended the funeral last Friday. John Holden and family from Ortonville Minnesota came Monday by car for the Bailey Kajpenman wedding.
Emery Mrs Leonard Casens visited relatives in Wood Iowa Saturday morning. Susia McDonald taught for her sister Helen last week and returned to Mitchell Monday. Miss Inez Wilkinson and Miss Klintz of Tripp were Chicago school roommates over the weekend. Mrs A Schroeder and Leo Schroeder with family toured toward Sunday. Mrs Schroeder stayed a few days. Mrs A Fedderson and Toby Buehner traveled from St Louis. she expects about two weeks. Martha Litz goes to Minneapolis to enter the University of Minnesota next school year. Red Cross officers elected for next year include C B Sellars vice chairman and Susie Mordan secretary. Jo Moran treasurer. Mrs Leo Schroeder learned of Aloys Hoffman’s accidental death near La Motte Iowa, found under an automobile.

Mr and Mrs Slaney Morris went to Onaria where Morris attended a Hamp Shire Stock meeting returning Wednesday. Mrs Will Jackson visiting from Rapid City spent last week with Ed and Mrs Bromwell and Will at Wessington Springs. Grain market slow with elevators halted buying for short intervals and shipping cars hard to obtain. Mr and Mrs Ed Berman leave for El Paso Texas to spend winter by Ford via Rapid City. J M Teesdale of Aberdeen has been visiting his parents Geo Teestfire for three weeks. he is a practicing attorney and left about twenty years ago. Curis Buller, injured in a runaway, is able to be out. facial injuries healing though arm and shoulder need more time. Andrew Tollin called to Minnesota Monday for death notice of brother John Tollin, who died from pneumonia. John farmed near town then moved to Minnesota last spring.
Bridgewater residents travelled to visit relatives including Mrs. Thos Jenkins in Highmore and Lew Brown’s family in Nebraska. Dr. O R Whitney stayed in Valioca Iowa while Dr R T Seymour handled practice locally. A Northwestern dental conference drew Dr A Payne from Sioux City. Wages for corn pickers range six to eight cents. some farmers hire at six. Mrs George Smith attended the Woman’s Synodical Missionary society delegate duties in Aberdeen. Dick Reiser and Robert Guenthner toured Omaha by auto. Prof Murray and George Odd spent time in Minneapolis. Jim Collins and wife completed a ten day 1200 mile western state trip with no vehicle issues. Jim tends a farm near Underwood in his absence.
Spencer resident Rosie Hart resigned from Schmidt Brothers store in Salem and returned home. Dr L H Ziegler left for Fort Riley to join the dental corps. Dr and Mrs L A Johnson and family and Dr and Mrs J E Rusicka visited from Plainview Neb. Troop E member Lemnert failed the Deming NM physical, received honorable discharge. Richard Kelly visiting Peter Nickel home as parents travel east. Rev R C Moore spoke at Mitchell funeral of J A Boulware. Local residents attended by car from Spencer.

Marion figures include Miss Mary Reding visiting Sioux Falls, Henrietta Lammers taking a stenographer post in Akron, and Peter Friesen returning from Munich to spend winter in Marion. Other notes mention travels to Runing Water, Sibley, Alpena, Gerama Valley, Sutton, and Bellevue with family ties and military enlistment in Sioux Falls.
Miss Bessie Seotraid has left her assistant postal position after years of service to accept a similar post at Woonsocket. Friends here regret her departure and wish her well in the new assignment.

The Branaugh child breaks forearm after a horse mishap with Dr Newman treating the injury. Lyman county sends its third contingent of 48 men to Camp Funston including Sev erin Svensen Fred DuBois Jus Moore and Henry Hueber. A large crowd gathered at the depot to see the boys depart.
Salem Mrs William Phillips returns to Flandreau after an extended visit with her daughter Mrs H L Merrick. Mrs Ted Barnhart from Plankinton visits Carthage with sister Mrs H A W Graham. Mr and Mrs A N Allis and Ray return from Sioux Falls then visit Nana E Gilbert in Lemmon before an official trip to the Black JUS to inspect charitable institutions. Miss Alma Heying returns to Sioux Falls to resume nurse training at McKinnon hospital. C W Johnson attends the National conception of Implement dealers in Chicago.
Mrs. J. W. Greenough and sons returned Friday from Bloomington Illinois after two weeks with relatives. Mr. Klingseis of Dedham Iowa arrived Sunday visiting Mrs Klingseis’ sister and other relatives, with travel from Ad drian Minnesota. The Klingseis family owns the German American bank. Laura Reddin Bertha Werner Margaret and Lois Carey traveled to Mitchell to visit Miss Helen Reddin at Notre Dame Academy.
Plankinton residents hosted and visited relatives from Alexandria Sioux City and Lansing Iowa while others traveled to Minneapolis and Pierre for studies church duties or medical care. George Nolan and Frank Goldie discharged from camp in Deming New Mexico due to weak lungs. Postmaster Doyle announces Plankinton voice as county clearing house for nostoches with supplies and reports redirected from Washington.
Mrs. Geo Hays arrived from Alexandria to visit her grandparents Mr and Mrs Will Hesler. Mrs Hackett and Margaret from Lake Gily Iowa visited Mrs Harry Strause. Rev S B Binkley from Kentucky will lead the Presbyterian church and preached his first sermon. Mrs Snell and son returned to Sac City Iowa after a stay with the Steps in Roth home. Mrs J P Baker and Mrs G C Blakley elected to represent the M E Church at the Methodist conference in Pierre. Levi Nelson and Mr Campbell chosen to represent Underwood church. Draft third squad of 20 men reported at Plankinton and left for Mitchell to join South Dakota contingents to Camp Funston. Mrs Mary A Goughner and daughter arrived from Cleveland Ohio for Mrs Goughner's illness. The Chas Dunbar and J G Willis families visited A P Bode home near Chamberlain. Willis family stayed a week. Mr and Mrs A I Herrick drove to Canova for visits with old friends, traveling via Mitchell with daughter Mrs Frank Phinney. they returned Monday.
Mitchell civic program marks the first indoor community singing event at city hall led by RE BE Flanders. George Harold Miller will read the singing as crowds join in patriotic tunes, with band interludes and a program featuring March Kahki Bill and Over There among selections.
