Bogus salesman to stand trial in Lead South Dakota
An individual named ER. S. Stafford was arrested in Douglas Wyoming on orders from Lawrence county authorities and brought back to Lead for trial on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses. He claimed to represent an eastern tailoring firm and induced several victims to place deposits on suits, then disappeared with the money. He had just begun similar schemes in Douglas when arrested.
