Sheriff of Douglas County Dies Sudden by Apoplexy
Armour, S. D., May 25. C. W. Waufman, sheriff of Douglas county, died at his home Tuesday at age 41 from apoplexy. He leaves a wife and four children and had life insurance with several fraternal and old line companies. Serving his second term, he was highly respected. Funeral held this afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. G. C. in Tillebrown officiating. Local lodges A. F. & A. M. were in charge.

Meyers Death Forces Murder Charge Against Doc Wilson
Charles Meyers died in an Omaha hospital from knife wounds suffered in a March 24 fight with Gregory county figure Doc Wilson. The altercation occurred on the Missouri river near Wheeler, Meyers was repeatedly cut in the leg, and blood poisoning followed. The assault charge will be upgraded to first degree murder.

Sioux Falls, May 24. Joseph M Dickson pioneer settler of Minnehaha county dies at daughter Mrs Rooney’s home in Flandreau after a year of ill health. Born 1840 in Logan County Ohio he homesteaded in Minnehaha 1871 later serving six years as sheriff and three as Sioux Falls chief of police with three additional years on the force. His remains to be brought to Sioux Falls Thursday for interment. He was a Civil War veteran and Elks member.
