At a state railway commission meeting in Pierre S I the panel denied the Great Northern railway company bid to close its Booga station. An attempt to wreck the Columbian west bound fast coast train occurred four miles west of Andover, Mil waukee Railway. A heavy angle iron was placed on the rail and the train struck it at full speed, causing engine wheels to leave the track and run on ties for 3100 feet before stopping. He argued shorter terms would let the people refuse to reelect unworthy judges, noting public irritation toward inferior courts while affirming regard for the judiciary overall.
The Letcher community mourns Mrs. Burnett who died of heart failure after a horse accident at about 8:30 yesterday morning as she was preparing to go to town. Her husband and children, including daughter Besse and son Lynn, are noted. services will be held at the home and her remains moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa.
