A vestibule train on Illinois Central No. 213 derailed four miles above DuQuoin Illinois while at 45 mph. Engineer Sam Bicknell and Conductor Lawrence survived. several passengers including Miss Smith Mrs F S Prentiss John Geings and Amos Boyd were injured. Estimated damage is $50000 with many cut and bruised. none killed outright.

Three fall from balcony into river near San Antonio
