Eastern Star Dance Thrives At Masonic Hall In Grand Style

Mitchell at Sioux Falls excursion draws 116 from Mitchell
Over a hundred Mitchell residents joined Omaha on an excursion to Sioux Falls. The 116 Mitchell people and State Juvenile band rode the special train, marched with L. E. Whitcher in command, and wore badges reading Company We. Despite rain, crowds packed Phillips avenue as uniformed Camp Dewey units paraded with Mitchell and Sioux Falls bands, before the group returned home at 11 p.m. with vivid memories of camp life.

Mrs John Helwig Dead After Liver Heart Trouble
W H Helwig received a telegram from his brother in Clarence New York announcing the death of his wife Mrs John Helwig at 40 years old. She leaves two adopted children and was devoted to home life. The couple immigrated in 1879 and built a 320 acre farm northwest of town before moving to Mitchell and later to New York. Funeral set for Thursday in Clarence.
